My first time in the car seat, what an experience! Finally leaving the hospital (or as my mom called it the hotel, since she was there for 5 days).

First night w/ my mommy and daddy

My first night out of ICU...very thankful to be out - I had enough of the machines and monitors they hook you up to. I am wearing my "little athlete" sleeper, the ladies in ICU put this on me when I was staying there, to keep me warm. They have pretty good taste, I am going to be an athlete and the color goes perfect w/ my big blue eyes.

Watch out world, I have arrived...

The day I have been anxiously awaiting was finally here...4 wks early, Jayden Tyler Smida - I was born at 9:36 AM on March 20, 2008, at 6.3lbs and 19.5 in.

My mom was at the hospital for 32 hours before I was born. I didn't want to come out, she was induced but this process took 24hrs, and still nothing was happening. Finally the doctor just decided to break the water and within 8 hrs I was born.

The first day and a half, I spent in ICU, since I was not full term (born before 37 wks). I also needed to be monitored, my levels of magnesium were high. This stuff was pumped into my mom before and after she had me because of her preeclampsia.
